From Jermaine Jackson on the Estate & Family’s Recent Feud

Yesterday, I had a phone call with my son Jaafar that broke my heart. He asked: “Is it true that we cannot visit grandmother’s house as a family anymore?” Enough has become enough… After much soul-searching, it is clearly time for us to live by Michael’s words about love not war. In this spirit, I offer this statement by way of extending an olive-branch. Accordingly, I rescind my signature from the letter which was sent to the Estate, and which should never have gone public. I still hold deep reservations about many issues involving the Estate, and I will continue to bring scrutiny and a resolute voice wherever we have cause for concern. But the way to address such matters is through the proper channels and via a private dialogue, not public conflict. Whatever the tabloid and on-line misrepresentations have led people to believe, my primary concern has only ever been rooted in the welfare of our mother in the environment where she lives. No-one on the outside has a clue about the stresses and pressures she has been under long before recent events and I, like everyone in the family, adore the ground she walks on. We are also still raw from the loss of Michael three years ago. The ever-present grief has haunted me with questions about whether we stepped off him too much or whether we did enough to help when a corporate world surrounded him. So when it comes to the well-being of loved ones, and especially our mother, we are perhaps understandably and unapologetically over-protective. As attorney Perry Sanders has since confirmed, a health check detected high blood pressure with Mother. Rest was the sole reason she went to Arizona. Prince even carried her bags down the stairs and urged her to rest-up, because we all come from the same caring place. When she was away, and with the children in the responsible care of Tito’s son TJ, there was never a malicious attempt to “block” the kids from talking with her. We simply worried that a call home would first entail, or lead to, conversations with individuals we are in dispute with and that would, therefore, increase pressure on Mother — and pressure was what a doctor said she didn’t need. This was why we went to the house in Calabasas to talk directly with the kids and merely discuss arrangements for them to meet with their grandmother. We were denied that access by security — and it was clear that mutual suspicions had allowed events to spiral out of control. I regret that events were ever allowed to reach such a stage. I regret any distress caused to Prince, Paris and Blanket. That was never, ever the intention of myself, Janet, Rebbie or Randy. Moving forward, the most effective way to best serve Mother’s welfare, and that of Michael’s children, is to start a collective dialogue, in private. Mistakes have been made and irrational things have been said on both sides in a highly-charged emotional environment. It is time for us all to draw a line in the sand and move towards peace, co-operation, love and healing. I truly hope that we can find it in our hearts to do so. Because above and beyond anything else, what matters…is family.

Deborah from Reflections on the Dance added:

I know many have varying opinions regarding Jermaine, but to me, going in addition to what I was told by a source, information that I posted here last week in regards to Joe’s nephew and apparent discord and trouble in the house due to him (he was hired by the estate as security for the children, I was told), this is why Mrs. Jackson left for rest as she does not have the authority to fire him. It’s not been confirmed to my knowledge, but I was told that he has since been fired. So what Jermaine is sharing below, coincides with everything I have told you previously, so it is my guess that this is an accurate representation of all that went on. Jermaine also states that the children did know about their grandmother leaving for a few days and that they were in the care of TJ and he explains why the siblings were hesitant about contact from the home and why they tried to go and speak with the children to explain this to them and how they were trying to protect their mother from the stress of all of this. I may be wrong here, but going by what sources shared, this seems to be an accurate synopsis of what went on.

Also, Janet Jackson fired threats of legal action against Harvey Levin at TMZ for claiming that she yelled expletives at and slapped Paris Jackson during a recent confrontation at the Calabasas home. Both Paris and Janet have disputed that story and the security video given to the media from Trent Jackson showed that no such thing occurred (slapping). TMZ have since issued an apology and retraction. I don’t link to that outlet as a matter of personal policy, but readers can find the story online.

I wish more public figures and celebrities would legally threaten media and tabloids over their false and sensationalized reporting, and demand retractions. If national laws do not control them in their greedy and destructive enterprises, then those whom they publish their stories about perhaps should.

Comments on both this post and the previous one, entitled “The Way I See It” are disabled.  There are plenty of opportunities and other places to continue discussing this issue.

For the Jackson family, for the estate, or for Michael’s fans, this is not the best way to honor or remember Michael Jackson: His family publicly feuding, estate bringing down the hammer of control (whether or not we feel it’s justified), fans arguing about which of his family Michael hated most and why, who’s greedy and just scheming for money, who’s stupid, who’s right, who’s wrong, who’s ignorant, who’s “a plant” working for this or that side (family or the estate), and so on.

The truth is, none of us know or fully understand what is going on in that family or in that household. The truth also is that each of us has our own perspective on events surrounding Michael’s death and the culpability of others who may have been (or may still be) involved. It’s interesting to discuss for a while, but when it has become this insidious and damaging….

Enough.

I hope this family and the estate can work out the obvious issues between them without so much nasty publicity and certainly without so much damage to Katherine, her children, or her grandchildren.  I’m sure most of you share that hope with me.

Katherine Jackson Reported Missing

Category: Family,JusticeSeven @ 6:12 am

Katherine Jackson

Trent Jackson, Mrs. Jackson’s nephew, has reported Mrs. Katherine Jackson missing late Saturday night after her grandchildren were unable to get in touch with her for a week.

However Jermaine Jackson tweeted just yesterday that Mrs. Jackson was fine and resting in Arizona.

I want to reassure everyone (inc all sudden medical experts) that Mother is fine but is resting up in AZ on the orders of a doctor, not us. This is our mother and her health is paramount. We are not inventing or plotting anything. We are following doctor’s advice. Period.

The missing persons report follows the letter made public Wednesday in which Rebbie, Jermaine, Randy and Tito charge that the 82-year old Mrs. Jackson was being mistreated and manipulated by the executors of Michael’s estate and mis-advised by her manager and lawyer.

According to Katherine’s lawyer, Sandra Ribera, she left her California home on July 15 to fly to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to attend a Jackson brothers concert two days later. She was travelling with her eldest daughter Rebbie.

But when Paris Jackson called Rebbie and Janet over the past several days, she was told she could not speak to her grandmother.

Although she seemed fine earlier in the day Saturday and did not mention her grandmother or seem upset, late Saturday evening/early Sunday morning, Paris tweeted:

yes, my grandmother is missing. i haven’t spoken with her in a week i want her home now.

if anybody sees my grandmother, please call the authorities or this number— (818)-876-0186 it’s the security number .. thank you so much

the same doctor that testified on behalf of dr murray saying my father was a drug addict (a lie) is caring for my grandmother… just saying

It is believed that the doctor referred to by Paris in her tweet is Dr. Allan Metzger, who is also Janet Jackson’s doctor and who was called as a defense witness in the Conrad Murray trial.

The kids were trying to get a hold of their grandmother and they haven’t been able to reach her for almost a week. They are told she’s unavailable. Mrs. Jackson has never gone 24 hours without talking to her kids. I’m concerned that she’s not safe.” Sandra Ribera said.

At least one media outlet has reached out to Janet Jackson’s representatives several times but did not hear back. The sheriff’s homicide-missing persons unit has been asked to investigate.

Prior to her departure, a doctor was brought to her home and represented that he had been sent from the office of her longtime physician. Based on this representation, Mrs. Jackson agreed to meet with the doctor who subsequently ordered her to fly rather than drive to her sons’ concerts. Mrs. Jackson followed what she believed to be her doctor’s instructions,” the statement said. “Moreover, Katherine Jackson’s longtime physician recently confirmed that his office did not send a doctor to Mrs. Jackson’s home last weekend before she left on her trip. It has further been discovered that the doctor that Katherine Jackson last saw has been publicly reprimanded by the California Medical Board for fraudulent activities and has ties to Dr. Conrad Murray.

The doctor who examined Jackson at her home on July 14 was Dr. Allan Metzger, according to Katherine Jackson attorney Sandra Ribera. Metzger was a defense expert witness for Dr. Conrad Murray last year. Murray was subsequently convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Michael Jackson’s death.

Dr. Metzger was brought into Jackson’s Calabasas, California, home “under false pretenses” by saying he was sent by her primary care physician, Ribera said. “We came to find out that her doctor has no association with Dr. Metzger.”

The doctor advised Jackson that it was better for her to take a plane on a trip planned for the next day, rather than ride in a RV driven by Trent Jackson, Ribera said.

Jackson left with her oldest daughter, Rebbie, the next day to fly to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to attend a Jackson brothers concert two days later, she said. But she never arrived at the concert, Ribera said.

UPDATE3: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/22/katherine-jackson-believed-safe_n_1693478.html?utm_hp_ref=tw

LOS ANGELES — Authorities said Sunday they believe Katherine Jackson, the mother of Michael Jackson and the guardian of his three minor children, is safe in Arizona with family members after she was reported missing.

The disclosure came after another concerned family member officially reported her missing Saturday night amid a dispute over the estate of her superstar son.

A person familiar with Katherine Jackson’s whereabouts said she is with her daughter Rebbie in Arizona and following a doctor’s orders to rest. The person was not authorized to speak publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

UPDATE4: Jermaine Jackson, just a short while ago (around 7:30 p.m. PST or so on Sunday 7/22), tweeted the following:

Let me put to bed today’s nonsense: as I made clear some days ago, Mother is safe and well in Arizona with her daughter and our sister, Rebbie, resting up on doctor’s advice, so it is beyond me how she can be reported “missing”

This incredulous claim was made for reasons best known to the adult/s who filed it but it seems no accident that it comes after we, the sons and daughters, put in place care-taking for our own mother, taking her to Arizona in line with doctor’s advice following a check-up.

Furthermore, it dismays me that such an alarmist “missing person” report has caused unnecessary anxiety among Michael’s children who will understandably react to what they misunderstand, hear or are told.

No-one is being “blocked” from speaking with Mother. She is merely an 82-year-old woman following doctor’s orders to rest-up and de-stress, away from phones and computers. Everyone has been well aware of this within the family, but I would like to reiterate my reassurance to the outside world that Mother is fine. In the meantime, thank you for all your thoughts and concerns.

Michael Jackson Family Demands Estate Executors Resign

Category: Family,JusticeSeven @ 12:40 am

Michael Jackson’s sisters Janet and Rebbie and brothers Tito, Randy and Jermaine Jackson claim that his estate executors John Branca and John McClain faked Michael’s last Will and Testament prior to his untimely death on June 25, 2009. Michael’s family are demanding that these men immediately resign their executorship of the Estate.

The following letter was received by John Branca and John McClain on Tuesday July 17th, 2012. Randy Jackson on Tuesday tweeted that “Yes, the letter is authentic. We ask that everyone respects that this is a serious matter that will be handled by the proper authorities.

Michael Jackson siblings letter to John Branca, McClain, Randy Phillips, Perry Sanders, Trent Jackson, Lowe…

The Estate, via MJ OnlineTeam responded with a tweet as follows:

STATEMENT FROM MICHAEL JACKSON ESTATE ATTORNEYS:

Recently, a letter was posted online from some of Michael Jackson’s siblings, whom Michael chose not to name in his will, questioning the document’s validity and the naming of John Branca and John McClain as his Executors. Here is a statement from attorneys for the Estate in response to the online posting:

Any doubts about the validity of Michael’s will and his selection of Executors were thoroughly and completely debunked two years ago when a challenge was rejected by the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the California Court of Appeals and, finally, the California Supreme Court.

Under the supervision of Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff, Co-Executors John Branca and John McClain have diligently carried out their fiduciary duties as well as their obligation to Michael to make sure that his Estate benefits the only family members he named in his will – his mother and his three children.

We are saddened that false and defamatory accusations grounded in stale Internet conspiracy theories are now being made by certain members of Michael’s family, whom he chose to leave out of his will. We are especially disheartened that they come at a time when remarkable progress has been made to secure the financial future of his children by turning around the Estate’s finances as well as during a time when so many of Michael’s fans, old and new, are enjoying his artistry through exciting new projects.
