As land resources become more and more scarce, building layouts are slowly evolving into a vertical distribution model. Especially for villas and mansions, vertical distribution scheme not only provides a more flexible configuration, but also allows outdoor landscape of garden to be moved indoors.
What are methods of presenting design of a vertical villa?
The Fawkner House

The curved elements on top and sides of villa give it a rich geometric beauty. The whole is filled with natural feeling.
Walking along corridor, immersed in greenery, vision and mood relax.
The floor of lobby is made of marble in form of a round block that follows geometric shape of building, and space becomes flexible.
A large area of bright colors in interior space makes whole space not monotonous.
A vertical circular skylight opens and light and shadow may change over time.
From outside, balcony on top floor is simply built into curved shape and echoes building.
SKY HOUSE

The designer uses a vertical layout of space. Half of space is designed to be open and simple to accommodate sunlight, rain, wind and trees, while other half meets needs of life.
Plants, like a green tie, tie space vertically.
The top half is sunlight and air, while bottom half is rain and earth. This is also transmission of natural ideas.
