Resort hotel lobby design case supported by 36 giant columns to appreciate beauty of secret place
Concrete is most common material for architectural design, but there will always be designers who use plain and clean concrete in new tricks. Bring double pleasure of creativity and beauty.
Today we will present some concrete hotel lobby projects, let's appreciate beauty of architecture together~
The Westin Shimei Bay Resort
The hotel's lobby area is almost 10,000 square meters and ceiling height is 23m. For such a huge space, YANG designed 36 huge concrete "trunks" in lobby, inspired by towering thousand-year-old trees in forest with green bark.
The "trunk" is covered with aluminum panels with a wood grain and natural texture, which become backbone of space. At same time, passages are thrown between “trunks”, forming air corridors, which not only solves problem of excessive scale of space, but also creates a sense of mystery of jungle.
The overall atmosphere of hotel is calm and sandy, with polyester chandeliers at top and the visual center of gravity shifting upwards. Slightly expanding vertical space.
Old Faithful Inn
Constructed from local logs and stone, building, built from local logs and stone, is over a hundred years old and is said to be largest log structure in world. Known for its rustic spatial texture.
The high lobby of the hotel has a massive stone fireplace and a handmade clock made of copper, wood and iron.
With mythical name of Atlantis, this is an aquatic-themed luxury island resort that combines ultimate in luxury with amazing and unique attractions.
The Hotel Danieli in Venice was built at end of 14th century by one of noble families of city.
Overlooking Venetian Lagoon, this hotel is just around corner from Piazza San Marco. The lobby is richly decorated with a combination of marble and gold leaf, as well as a spectacular central staircase.
