In traditional Chinese architecture, there is probably no more emblematic courtyard design than Siheyuan. The surrounding walls of courtyard not only provide lighting, but also provide secure privacy. Building a house in such an environment can be described as an example of relaxation and elegance.

1. Hotel Huaji
Nanjing
The capital of Six Dynasties, a former imperial city. The homestay was built on basis of three-entrance old houses of Ming and Qing dynasties. The colorful brick walls speak of a bygone era, and overall layout is gorgeous.
In courtyards, walls and window sills, a large number of flowers and herbs are planted, echoing old houses of Ming and Qing dynasties and Republic of China.
2. Ruyuan Courtyard Hotel
Beijing
Located in a picturesque location, original design intent was to give guests opportunity to experience real life in courtyard. Based on original old courtyard house, it was redesigned by SuperPotatoes, a world-renowned architecture and design firm in Japan.
Like a garden after baptism, blue and white clouds, red walls and green trees, it is as beautiful as a corner of a royal garden during Ming and Qing dynasties. Tucked away in a deep alley, courtyard you enter three times is almost a scene at a time.
3. Miyu Qijianbang
Zhengzhou
All elements of living in a family are created by nature. Old wood, cement, bricks, rattan, green plants, earthenware, cotton and linen... As soon as you enter the door, you are greeted by a natural and simple atmosphere.
There are 7 rooms in total. All guest rooms are located on second floor, while public spaces such as multifunctional rooms, craft workshops, meeting rooms, tea rooms and children's entertainment are created on first floor.
4. Happy Hotel
Beijing
The most famous thing about this guest house is open-air balcony. There are also balconies and a courtyard where you can fully enjoy beautiful scenery of Beijing.
The interior of room is fully integrated with modern elements, making it comfortable and residential. The most ingenious thing is that each room is named after solar terms.
