In winter, temperature is relatively low and weather is cold. Many friends think that winter is not suitable for decoration. Actually it is not. Winter is also a good time for decoration. As long as you master some of details, you can easily decorate winter.
1. The material is still
It is cold in winter, and temperature difference between indoors and outdoors is relatively large, so materials are prone to thermal expansion and contraction. Therefore, if you are finishing in winter, you must bring materials to site in advance, let them stand for four to five days, and then use them.
2. The temperature in room should not be too low
During finishing process, temperature in room should not be too low. If temperature is too low, shrinkage of some materials will increase, which will affect construction quality. Especially for masons, temperature of tile should not be lower than 8°C. If temperature is too low, tile will fall off easily.
3. Leave expansion joints for carpentry
When building wooden houses, it is necessary to provide for a sufficient number of expansion joints, because construction temperature in winter is relatively low. Therefore, in multi-ceiling and other joinery construction, it is necessary to leave a sufficient number of expansion joints to avoid thermal expansion and contraction. Wait until summer temperature rises, they will crack at joints of plasterboard of false ceiling.
4. Putty is not too thick
The upper surface of wall needs to be puttied, but in winter weather is dry and rate of water loss is relatively high. Putty should not be applied too thick, otherwise it will easily cause bumps, notches and cracking of wall surface.
5. Pay attention to fire safety
The weather is dry in winter, and there will be a lot of wood materials, dust, etc. on construction site. Therefore, pay attention to fire prevention, and fire extinguishers are best prepared on site in case of an emergency.
6. Construction time should not be too fast
Construction in winter should not be too fast, especially for wall plastering work. You must wait for first coat to dry before applying second coat, otherwise moisture will return and second coat will not adhere easily, causing large walls in future. The area is falling off.
